This past Monday was a big night for the East Noble Girls soccer team! Not only was it senior night, but also a special fundraising game for “Kickin’ it for Cancer.” Both of the teams wore pink to support cancer night. Not only was it an exciting game, but it was an emotional one for many.

They kicked off their senior night against Norwell with JV. The majority of the JV game Norwell had been up by one, until Taylor Burke scored a goal in the last minute, tying the game. Varsity played after the seniors gathered in between the games. East Noble was behind Norwell 2-0 in the first half; but, when half-time came around, they communicated what they needed to improve on to win this game. East Noble had a great comeback in the 2nd half by catching up and tying up a couple times with Norwell. Senior Taylor Rex, number 4, scored all the goals. Emily Dashiell, junior, number 17, assisted Rex in all those goals. East Noble fell short 3-4, but showed their strength in the second half.

There are many seniors that the team is saying goodbye to this soccer season. Taylor Rex (number 4, outside midfielder) has played all four years and plays on travel teams. Rex would like to play in college. Mya Diffenderer (number 10, forward/midfielder) came back from tearing her ACL to play her fourth year of soccer. Olivia Smith (number 33) she had been varsity goalie for all her high school career until she recently tore her ACL and could not play her senior year. Olivia still goes to all the games to support her team. Kayla Morse (number 5, middle fielder), Elizabeth Molen (number 7, midfielder), Nicole CoBurn (number 24, defense), Kelsey CoBurn (number 29, midfielder) have also played for four years. Bailee Hager (number 32, defender) has played for 3 years in high school. Laina Combs (number 8, defender) started playing her junior year. The soccer team welcomed three foreign exchange students this year. Cecilia Colombo (number 30) Ceudan Haja Shafira (number 1), and Juliet Marar (number 33) are very excited to be playing in the soccer season with all these girls.

It was an emotional night for the whole team as they watch some of their team move onto the next stage of their lives. Junior Kenzie Krause showed her care for the seniors by saying, “All the seniors contributed so much to the team. It will be such a loss when they leave.” East Noble Soccer team seniors will surely be missed and always remembered. This was shown very well throughout the whole night by all the team!
