East Noble Girl’s Golf gets 3rd at EN Invitational
Last Saturday, on August 8th 2015, East Noble hosted the EN Invite at Noble Hawk. The weather was perfect, the players played well, and everything was great that day. East Noble got 3rd out of 11 teams. In first place was Bishop Dwenger with a score of 342, second was Plymouth with a score of 362, third was East Noble with a score of 374, fourth was DeKalb with a score of379, fifth was Huntington North with a score of 394, sixth was Warsaw with a score of 409,seventh was Concord with a score of 417, eighth was Bishop Luers with a score of 434, ninth was Elkhart Central with a score of 443, tenth was Goshen with a score of 448, and eleventh was Plymouth JV with a score of 480.
There are six girls on the team. They are senior Cooper Handshoe, junior Jenna Hernandez, junior Brittany Alwine, junior Katelyn Weber, and sophomores Sara Kilburn and Shelby Targgart. This year’s girls’ golf coach is Dick Bentz. Also their manager is sophomore Sahil Patel. These girls are great to be around and have worked really hard. Almost every week there are three matches they have to compete in and they never give up. Our home course this year is Cobblestone in Kendallville, Indiana. That’s were most of our matches are, unless on Tuesdays and Thursdays they’re at Noble Hawk Golf Links.
Individual Scores for East Noble were Cooper Handshoe with a score of 78, Sara Kilburn with a score of 86, Jenna Hernandez with a score of 98, Brittany Alwine with a score of 118, and Shelby Targgart with a score of 112. Out of all the teams there, all the young ladies who competed, our very own Cooper Handshoe got the lowest score out of the whole competition. She got a trophy for being 1st. She had to do a playoff, and she won sudden death with a birdieon hole 1. Great Job Cooper!
Congratulations to all the ladies that competed and good luck on the rest of your season. The next match will be Tuesday, August 18th at Noble Hawk. Nice work East Noble girls and keep up the good work.
