On Friday, October 24, the cold weather eased up slightly just in time for fans to come out and watch East Noble’s Varsity Football team compete in the first round of Sectionals. The opponent? Rival DeKalb High School. Before the game, the team was confident in their ability to beat DeKalb, as they had done so in a high scoring game earlier during regular season play.

Within the first quarter, East Noble led by 7 points, and had kept DeKalb from scoring any, but throughout the game DeKalb scored a mere 3 times on Knight Defense. Luckily, the EN offense was on their game, and stayed ahead by at least 7 points the entire game. In the fourth quarter, Coach Amstutz took advantage of the lead and sent in some JV players, so they too could experience some high-stakes play. Touchdowns were made by juniors Dylan Fuller and Nate Ogle, and sophomores Xavier Van Allen and Charlie Miller, setting the final score at East Noble 48 and DeKalb 22. The win keeps East Noble in sectional play for the second round.

East Noble High School plays next on Halloween Night at 7 pm against the Northridge Raiders.
