Boys Soccer Conference Win

The last home boys soccer game of the 2014 season took place on Monday, September 29. At the start of the evening, before the team took on New Haven, they took time to honor the team’s four graduating managers, and several talented players that have spent their last year playing soccer as EN seniors. Each was announced, and went on to walk with their parents down the track, all the while the crowd heard the players’ best moments being read over the speakers. The coaches went on to wish each of them the best of luck, and then the game began.

After the honors, every player got their head into the game and was ready and determined to beat the purple-clad New Haven High School. Within the first few minutes after the starting whistle, East Noble had made their first goal to start off the game ahead. In the next part of the game, the Bulldogs managed to push two goals past goalie, junior Cameron Diehm, but for the rest of the night Diehm acted as a brick wall in front of the goal. The team pushed through New Haven’s strong defense and ended up scoring four more goals before the end of the night, setting the score at 5-2, East Noble with the win. From the start of the season to this game, improvements could be seen from every player on the team, and some players who started on JV even moved their way up to the Varsity line-up by the end of the season. The game proved to be a solid final home game for the seniors before sectionals, and a proud NHC win! Go Knights!
