1^st Victory for the Knights Against Northrup

This past Friday (8/22), East Noble’s varsity football team faced off against the Northrup Bruins in the first game of the 2014 season. While the Bruins managed to get the lead early in the game, scoring a touchdown with a good kick within the first five minutes of the game, the Knights made a strong comeback with a touchdown and a good kick at the 5:20 mark. The first quarter ended with the two teams tied at seven points. During the second quarter, the Knights managed to get a touchdown with a kick in under a minute and another touchdown with a kick with less than three minutes later. The Knights got another touchdown and kick with only a minute left in the quarter, ending the second quarter at Knights 35 and Northrup 7.

During halftime, the Marching Knights performed a song from their new show, which they have spent 120 hours on this summer, coming this season in their new uniforms. Our Marching Knights are now wearing the latest in trends and tech when it comes to marching band uniforms. When the halftime concluded, the teams returned to the field, ready to for the second half.

During the midst of the third quarter, the Bruins managed to get a touchdown with a failed kick, bringing the score to 35-13. Just before the start of the fourth quarter, the East Noble crowd could be heard chanting for the Knights, half the crowd yelling “EAST” while the other half followed with “NOBLE.” When the fourth quarter was nearing the end, the Knights managed to get a field goal worth three points. This would make the final goal Knights 38 and Bruins 13, making for a rather good first game victory for the East Noble Knights.
