On Friday, August 22, Varsity football played the first of their only four home football games in the 2014 season. The opponent? Northrop High School. The  evening was hot and muggy as fans washed into the stands in anticipation of Kendallville’s favorite Friday Night Game and East Noble’s varsity team prepared themselves to start the game off strong.

With 5:20 left to go in the first quarter, East Noble and Northrop were tied 7-7. East Noble’s first touchdown was scored by Junior Nathan Ogle. During the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarter, the men proved their skill and dedication to the team, and the game. Northrop had some very experienced players on their team, but it didn’t seem to be much of a feat for East Noble, even while having some younger players on the field. The Knights only allowed one more touchdown by the Bruins in the 3rd quarter, but it wasn’t enough to give Northrop any momentum.   By the end of the game , East Noble was proudly up 38-15 with other touchdowns scored by Jake Torrie, Matt Strowmatt, and Keaton Osborn.

The first game of the season was a win.

The next home football game is on September 5, against DeKalb High School.
