Last year’s spell bowl team at the State competition in the Loeb Playhouse on the campus of Purdue University.

Since April 27, 2015 our East Noble Spell Bowl team has started up again. I am sad to say we have lost 3 seniors from last season, but I am happy to say we have gained 4 new people. This team will be practicing on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the school cafeteria. They study spell bowl words that come from the Indiana Association of School Principals. There are 3200 that are on this year’s list and they will be released in 10 days, on May 15, 2015. Right now they are studying previous year words to get an understanding of things. The head coach is Mr. Bob Avery, who was a former teacher at East Noble High School and has been doing spell bowl for over 23 years. East Noble has gotten to state for 19 consecutive years. Mr. Avery usually brings popcorn, candy, refreshments, and laughter whenever he comes to practice. High schoolers from grades 9-12 can do it, and if you have a brother, sister, cousin, or a friend who is in 8th grade now and loves to spell, share this with them. The more people the better. Just tell them to come on either Monday or Thursday to see us in action. For more information you can look at the announcements on your email or contact Mr. Avery at [email protected]. Other contacts are our two co-captains: Alyssa Yoquelet or Phillip Phan. Hope you see you at practice!
