East Noble choral director Chris Mettert received word that he is a quarterfinalist for the 2021 Grammy Music Educator Award.  Yes folks, that means one of our own members of Knight Nation could win a Grammy just like Billie Eilish and Lizzo.

There were 2,000 teachers nominated for the award but 216 who made it to the quarterfinals.   Mettert is alongside 5 other teachers from Indiana.

The Music Educator Award was established to recognize current educators (kindergarten through college, public and private schools) who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education and who demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools.

The program continues to narrow down finalists until there are 10.  The top 10 will receive $1,000 and one will be flown to Los Angeles for the Grammy Award ceremony.
