All Quiet on the Noble Prairie

The sun may have set on the Noble Prairie early this year, but nonetheless the Marching Knights had an incredible season. Let’s look back at the season and how the Marching Knights performed.

Week 1: Bluffton Invitational

The Knights placed 2nd at the Bluffton Invitational with a score of 53.85. This was an excellent benchmark of how the Knights would perform this season. They set the bar high at the first competition.

Week 2: Dekalb Invitational

The Knights placed first at the Dekalb Invitational with a score of 64.65 and swept all three captions (Music, Visual, and Effect) for their class.

Week 3: East Noble Invitational

The East Noble Invitational is always an eventful time for everyone. Once again this year the Knights performed indoors at the end of the night. They also performed in exhibition. However, the judges’ comments proved to be encouraging.

Week 4: Avon Invitational

After a very eventful trip down to Avon, a trip that lasted 7 hours on the road and a semi-truck break down, the Knights performed at Avon High School. Because of the unexpectedly long trip, the Knights performed in exhibition for the second straight week. However, they still scored a 67.750.

Week 5: Bye

The Knights did not have a competition this week, but continued to practice hard.

Week 6: Homestead ISSMA Open Invitational; Snider Invitational

This week the Knights had a very busy day. They traveled to Homestead High School for the ISSMA Open Invitational. Because this is an ISSMA competition, the scores and rankings are not allowed to be published. However, the Knights performed incredibly well.

Immediately after the performance at Homestead, the Knights traveled to Wayne High School for the Snider Invitational. The Knights placed 2nd in their class with a score of 70.55. They should be very proud of their performances.

Week 7: Regional ISSMA Competition (Chesterton HS)

Because this is an ISSMA competition, the scores and rankings are not allowed to be published (but the Knights performed incredibly well. Well enough to easily proceed to Semi-State)

Week 8: Northrop Invitational

This week the Knights performed at Northrop High School and placed 3rd with an 81.85. They continued their impressive performances with this one and weren’t going to slow down.

Week 9: Semi-state ISSMA Competition (Pike HS)

Because this is an ISSMA competition, the scores and ranking are not allowed to be published (This was the final performance the Knights did this season, and they could not have performed with more pride, dignity, and excellence).

Looking at these performances, the Knights have nothing to feel poorly about. They gave every show their all, and saw the reward for doing so. The Knights have progressively grown, and shown improvement in the four years director Bryan Muñoz has been at the helm. The tradition of excellence the Knights have adopted and made their own will continue to shine. Even though the sun may have set early, a new day will dawn and the Knights will be back out on the field before you know it, with a fervor to achieve perfection greater than ever before.
