Co-Captain Emily Savage gets “generically” correct.

Congratulations to our Spell Bowl team for getting first at the NHC competition that was held on October 27th at DeKalb. This is the eighth year in a row that East Noble took home the first place trophy. The schools that participated where Columbia City, Homestead, Carroll, DeKalb, Bellmont, and East Noble.

The final scores at the competition were East Noble with 60 points, out of a possible 90, Columbia City with 41 points, Homestead with 37 points, Carroll with 33 points, DeKalb with 31 points, and Bellmont with 17 points.

Seniors: Emily Savage got 8 words correct, Rachel Smolinske got 7 words correct, and Nathan Shortridge got 5 words correct.

Juniors: Phillip Phan got 8 words correct and Alyssa Yoquelet also got 8 words correct.

Sophomores: Kaelyn Bender got 3 words correct, Megan Shortridge got 3 words correct, and Meghann McCoy got 8 words correct.

Freshmen: Sahil Patel got 3 words correct.

The Knights’ next Spell Bowl competitions are Area on November 3rd at Northridge to see if we qualify to go to State, and State is at Purdue University November 15th. Congratulations Spellers and good luck at your next competition!
