Do you like to hang out with friends? Are you a freshman in high school or older? Does it bring you joy to chuck dodgeballs at random strangers’ faces?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, you might be interested in the dodgeball tournament at St. John Lutheran Church here in Kendallville on Sunday, October 19! Kids in high school and even adults are allowed to form teams and compete in the event for the top prize. The sign-up process is quick and easy.

First, create a team of six to ten people. Grab your high school friends, your college friends, your neighbors, your senile grandma—anyone you want, as long as they are at least a freshman in high school.

Once you have your team assembled, think up a cool name for yourselves. It can be as simplistic as “the Tigers” or as random as “T6%gp!S.” You also might consider dressing in a team color or even wearing costumes if it suits the name you give yourselves.

When you have that taken care of, fill out an online form at www.sjlc.net/dodgeball to officially enter. There is an entry fee, but you don’t pay that until the day of the tournament. Team fees are $15.00, and there is also a $5.00 fee if you would like to sign up individually. The St. John youth group, which is running the event, will find a team for people who choose this option.

Finally, show up at St. John Lutheran Church at 5:00 PM on October 19! Concessions will be available, and everyone who comes is sure to have a great time. So sign up and tell your friends!

For more information you can email Marissa Deetz at [email protected] or visit https://www.smore.com/5asfh. There will also be a concert after the tournament, so be on the lookout for an article with those details!
