ASB – State Qualifying Competition

ASB - State Qualifying Competition

Tuesday (4.21), East Noble’s Academic Super Bowl team attended the regional state qualifying competition at Hamilton High School. While East Noble didn’t score high enough in their class in any subjects to qualify for state competition, they ranked several times during this competition against the regional school. This year’s theme had been “the Grandeur that was Rome.”

Competition that night alongside East Noble was DeKalb, Angola, Lakeland, Prairie Heights, Freemont, and the home team Hamilton.  East Noble and DeKalb were Class 1, Angola and Lakeland were Class 2, Prairie Heights and Freemont were Class 3, and Hamilton was Class 4.

In Math, the first round, East Noble placed second overall with a score of 12 points with the potential for 25. DeKalb placed 1st overall with 15 points. In English, East Noble tied for 3rd with 10 points with Lakeland. Angola placed 2nd and DeKalb placed 1st. In Science, East Noble failed to place. Hamilton took 1st with 19 points, DeKalb took 2nd with 16, and Lakeland took 3rd 14. In Art, East Noble placed 3rd with 16 points. DeKalb and Freemont tied for 1st and 2nd with 20 points. In Social Studies, East Noble placed in 3rd with 9 along with Angola. DeKalb took 1st with 20 and Lakeland took 2nd with 16. In Interdisciplinary, East Noble took first with 20 points, beating out DeKalb with 14 and Freemont and Angola who had 13.
