The Perks of Graduating Early

“It’s less than a month until I’m done here!” You might have been hearing this around the school recently. There are some seniors that are graduating early; actually, a majority of the seniors this year are graduating early. This year there are several students who are graduating second trimester. Early graduates have to make sure they will have completed all of their mandatory classes and received the credit in order to pass each class. If all of the credits are achieved and all of their mandatory classes are completed and passed by the end of this trimester, then they may graduate.

If an early graduate does not pass one of the mandatory classes, he or she has to stay for the entire year to get that credit. Most early graduates are graduating early in order to get a longer break before college in the fall. As a senior, I personally wanted to graduate early so I could work more and save up money for college in the fall. It’s a nice small break from school and would give me time to clear my head. Early graduates like Morgan Gamble would definitely agree. “I know I want to start working more to save up money so I can take a college class this summer,” says Morgan, “that way I know what I’m going to be doing when it comes fall.”

There are also students who are graduating early in order to be finished with school while there are others who could or would like to graduate early but can’t because of sports or the way their schedule falls. It all depends on the amount of classes that a student passes in the earlier years of high school. Graduating early could be a make it or break it point for soon-to-be college kids due to a larger break between schooling. Some seniors tend to do what they can to graduate early while others stay and finish out their senior year. It all depends on the type of person.
