Ever since last school year our East Noble Spell Bowl team has practiced constantly. We practiced over the summer at Coach Avery’s house. The words we have been spelling are the “Indiana Academic Spell Bowl 2014 Senior Word List.” Some of the words are Alzheimer’s disease, artesian well, zincked, connoisseur, and so many more.

September 15, 2014, was our first Spell Bowl competition at East Noble. The schools that participated in this event were: Garrett, Penn, North Side, Bishop Dwenger, Logansport, Northwood, Prairie Heights, Carroll, and East Noble. The final, top scores from that night were, Penn in first with 88 points out of 90 points, East Noble in second with 57 points, and Bishop Dwenger in third with 52 points.

Our seniors on the spell bowl team are, Co-captain Emily Savage who got 5 words correct, Co-captain Rachel Smolinske who got 8 words correct, a near-perfect, Tresa Miller who also got 8 words correct, a near-perfect, and Nathan Shortridge who got 5 words correct.
