Kid City Celebrates 10 Years

Kid City Celebrates 10 Years

This year marked the tenth year that Kid City has taken place at the Noble County Fairgrounds. Kid City is a free fun-fair for kids where they can learn from businesses and organizations about art, music, the environment, ect. Kids receive a passport to be signed at each station and are entered to win prizes throughout the day.

Wible’s Paint & Wallpaper of downtown Kendallville, has ran a station all ten year at Kid City where kids can choose a color of paint and paint small sections of fences that are usually displayed in their store window. This year they also had an old car to be painted by the kids and is now parked in front of the store.

Parkview Hospital was another business that had many stations for kids to learn at. They have active games for kids to play and they learned about the food pyramid and how to eat and exercise right. The East Noble Marching Band was stationed in the log cabin and offered kids to beat on drums and learn about all the instruments the band plays. Farm animals from our community were held in the cattle barn for kids to pet and learn their names. My personal favorite animal was a huge dairy cow, her name was Fancy.

I had the pleasure to experience Kid City again this year with my sister and eleven year old cousin. I have gone all ten years myself with family and have enjoyed it every year. I looked around every station I could hear the laughter and could see the smile on kid’s faces. Another fun year goes by for Kid City, and hopefully there are many more fun years to come.
