SO, WHO THE HECK IS STILL ALIVE AFTER INFINITY WAR?

Hello again True Believers! Unless you’ve been living under a rock or the desolate moon of Titan, you’ve probably seen Avengers Infinity War by this point, and you’re now probably confused and worried about some of your favorite characters. Well, this article will go over some of the characters that we didn’t see the final fates of in the film.

WARNING: SPOILERS TO FOLLOW! READ ON AT YOUR OWN RISK

Shuri: Probably one of the characters that fans are really hoping to be alive. Personally, I have to say that she is probably alive. They wouldn’t kill off both T’Challa and Shuri. More than likely she’s going to be revealed to be alive at the start of the next moving when she probably calls Okoye asking what the heck just happened. But yeah, she’s probably safe.

The Collector: This one’s kind of iffy. On the one hand, the Collector is kind of a guy that would have a few tricks up his sleeve to escape death. On the other hand, Thanos isn’t a guy you can easily escape from. Honestly, I think Thanos did indeed kill him when he came for the Reality Stone. Sorry Tivan, but you’re dead.

Loki: We did indeed see Thanos kill Loki at the start of the movie. However, I would not be surprised if Loki turns out to be alive. After all, the Price of Lies does have a nasty habit of faking his death only to come back later with more schemes. Though I do think that Loki is probably dead for good this time, I certainly won’t be surprised if he comes back in Avengers 4 or another Asgard movie.

Hawkeye and Antman: Totally alive. They’re too important to kill off-screen, especially since their roles were cut from the final cut of the movie. So they’re coming back.

Wong: This one’s kind of a coin flip. On the one hand, with Doctor Strange dead, the Avengers kind of need another sorcerer. On the other hand, he is kind of minor enough in the MCU to kill off. This one we’re just going to have to wait and see.

Valkyrie: Sadly, Valkyrie’s role in the film was cut. And the fact that Thanos destroyed the transport carrying the last of the Asgardians didn’t bode well for her. However, Co-Director Joe Ruso officially confirmed that Valkyrie—along with about half the Asgardians on the ship—escaped the slaughter. While it doesn’t make sense on why she would abandon Thor and Hulk, what probably happened was that Thor elected her to protect the last of their people while he holds off Thanos. So breathe easy, Valkyrie fans: she lives.

Korg and Miek: As I mentioned above, Joe Ruso confirmed that Valkyrie escaped Thanos’s attack. However, we still have no word on whether or not the break-out fan favorite character Korg and his companion Miek escaped as well. My prediction: yes. They escape. We’ll probably be seeing them again in some later movie involving Valkyrie (And maybe another character we’ve lost track of a while back; see below for more on this)

Pepper Potts and Happy Hogan: Both confirmed to be in Avengers 4. They live.

Ned: Peter Parker’s best friend. Unless they decide to randomly bring him in as the new Spiderman with Peter’s death, he’s a goner.

Sharon Carter: She was never going to be in Infinity War. But there is a chance that she’s still alive. I mean, they did kill Nick Fury and Maria Hill. And since we probably won’t get that Agents of SHIELD/Movie crossover, someone’s going to have to still be standing for SHIELD.

Random Villains somehow still alive in the MCU: This one’s also kind of a tough one to figure out. While it is possible that the remaining Avengers might team up with one or more of these (somehow) still living villains, it’s highly unlikely. Probably the most likely villain that they’d team up with would be Mordo, and that’s only if Wong turns out to be dead. Other villains that are still alive—such as Zemo, Red Skull, and Abomination—probably would only team up as a last resort. Don’t expect any villain team-ups in Avengers 4 though, it probably won’t happen.

Thunderbolt Ross: Another hard one to predict. However, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that he’s alive. I can also then totally see him bringing in what’s left of the U.S. Army to Wakanda to arrest the remaining Avengers (thinking that they are the cause of half the life on Earth disintegrating), and then maybe later becoming Red Hulk to help them fight Thanos.

BONUS THEORY

Sif: the last time we saw Sif was in season 2 of Agents of SHIELD. Since then, she’s been mysteriously absent from the MCU. There’s no way that she would’ve died off camera on Asgard during Hela’s assault. So that leaves me to believe that she wasn’t there for the events of Thor Ragnarok. Which begs the question: where is Sif?
Stay tuned to the internet for more random Avengers 4 theories, and keep an eye out for upcoming MCU movies such as Ant Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, and Avengers 4.
