The Amazing Race

The+Amazing+Race

On Monday, September 14, East Noble High School’s Homecoming week began with a brand new after school event, The Amazing Race.

In this event, students had to race in teams across the school to different activities to earn points for their class. To find each challenge, students had to solve simple riddles that led them to the next event. The activities could either make your entire team participate or a portion of your team complete the challenge.

Event one was the Egg Nose Roll. Students had to push an egg across a section of the North Parking lot with only their noses. Then, another group member had to push the egg back. If the egg cracked, teams were awarded a 5 minute penalty.

The next event was Makeup, located outside of the Round Table Cafe. Each team had to put on makeup—such as nail polish and blush— on every member of their team to advance to the next challenge.

Event number 3 was the Ball Shake, stationed outside the library. Teams had to shake golf balls out of a tissue box by tying the box to their waists and then shaking them. Golf balls were flying everywhere as teams hurried to complete this challenge.

Following that was a very simple event: just choosing one member of your team to eat a chocolate banana in the cafeteria. The only catch was, you had to eat it using only your mouths. You could not use your hands at all.

With chocolate smeared on their faces, the teams advanced to their next challenge: finding and removing raisins from a bowl of whipped cream. Stationed at the doors to the Bus Stop, the students had a lot of fun licking up this tasty treat to find their prize.

The next event was a 3 legged walk across the auditorium lobby. Following that was the final event: popping a balloon by hugging another one of your teammates and crushing the balloon between you.

1st place for The Amazing Race went to Juniors Jordan Axel, Alyx Clark, and Senior Claire Brown. 2nd Place went Juniors Myah Romer, Bailee Hager, and Megan Butler. 3rd place went to Senior Macy Burtch, Sophomore Rachel Ort, and Freshman Matthieus McDonald.

All in all, everyone had a lot of fun, and this event had a good turnout for a new event to the Homecoming events.
