The Lady Knights varsity soccer season did not get off to a great start after they were defeated by the Homestead Spartans 6-0 Tuesday night.

The Knights started off well, keeping the game pretty even throughout the first half. Their downfall began when the Spartans scored a last second goal to conclude the half.

The second half went downhill from there, with Homestead scoring another five goals before the game ended. Despite the crushing defeat, the Lady Knights remain confident and positive.

“I feel like we worked hard throughout the game and worked together really well against a strong team,” said senior Carissa Gruszczyk after the game.

The Lady Knights next play Lakeland High School on Thursday.
