Co-Ed Swim Has Begun

The season of swimming has begun and preparing for swim meets is a necessity. According to one of the swim instructors, Mrs. Eakins, the swimmers, and divers are working hard to have a good season by fine-tuning their performance and technique to gain advantages in a race. There are a total of 39 swimmers and divers, 19 males and 20 females. Some of these athletes have been previously injured, so there’s hope for them to get healthy enough to properly compete. Along with the large number of athletes, they need group leaders who are willing to hold teammates accountable and help to make the new-comers learn how things are done.Luckily, coaches have noticed that there are students stepping up to be leaders for the team. The focus in the first part of the season is to improve as much as possible to push the swimmers and divers to work as hard as possible when tired. This includes focusing in on small details to see large improvements when focused and primed for meets. It’s important for all athletes to practice the way they wish to perform, and swimmers and divers are no exception. This swim and dive season is promising for these student athletes.
