Two Saturdays ago (September 5, 2015), East Noble hosted the NHC Tournament at Noble Hawk. The weather was mild; the only issue was the strong wind. The golfers played well, and everything went great that day. East Noble got fifth out of 8 teams.

In first place was Leo with a score of 348, in second was DeKalb with a score of 380, in third was Bellmont with a score of 383, in fourth was Huntington North with a score of 386, in fifth was East Noble with a score of 391, in sixth was Columbia City with a score of 402, in seventh was Norwell with a score of 505, and in eighth was New Haven with no score since they did not have a full team compete. Congratulations to Leo on your win.

Individual scores for East Noble were:

Cooper Handshoe with a score of 86
Sara Kilburn with a score of 96
Jenna Hernandez with a score of 104
Brittany Alwine with a score of 120
Shelby Targgart with a score of 105

Out of all the teams there and all the young ladies who competed, Bellmont’s #1 girl emerged as the medalist of the whole match. She shot a score of 80. Our very own Cooper Handshoe was first team all NE8; Sarah Kilburn also got an Honorable Mention. Congratulations, girls.

Our next match will be Saturday September 19th at Cobblestone for Sectionals, which will determine which teams and individuals will move on to Regionals. Nice work, East Noble Girls Golf, and keep up the good work.
