EN Baseball Rocks Bellmont on Senior Night

East Noble’s baseball team was victorious against the Bellmont Braves at their Senior Night on Tuesday night by the score of 10-6.  Prior to the game, the 7 seniors were honored on the field with their parents.  As they made the trip from 3rd base to home plate, their names, parents’ names, and their favorite memory of their baseball career at East Noble were announced.  The 7 seniors include Marco Campos, Paul Dwyer, Gray Fox, Noah Hamilton, Matt Patton, Jake Peterson and Josh Tew.

“Throughout the years of baseball, I have learned to work hard and to stay committed to a common goal. Baseball is a game that takes a long time to master, however if one stays dedicated and relentlessly pursues excellence, then they will become good ball players and, most importantly, great individuals,” says Peterson, catcher.

The Knights improved to 18-6 on the season with the help of 5 home runs!  Fox, Hamilton and Peterson ended their tenure on the East Noble baseball field each with a home run.  Juniors Matt Strowmatt and Bryce Wolfe each had a shot of their own, too.  Along with his home run, Fox drove in 3 RBI’s and Peterson and Strowmatt each had 2 RBI’s.

In his last game on the mound at East Noble, Tew pitched a complete game, giving up 6 runs, 11 hits, and 4 strikeouts!

On the fielding front, Patton and Campos each had their own diving stops, throwing out the runner going to first both times!  Dwyer gunned a runner down at 3rd after a pitch when the runner got too far off.

“I think that the key to success this year is our team’s chemistry. We all love being on the field together playing the game that we love and I think that we play well because we are all filled with a passion to win and have fun,” continues Peterson.

The Knights moved to 18-6 to cap off the rest of their games at home.  Later this week, they go to Goshen and have a double header against North Side.  Good luck during the rest of the season and congratulations on all of the success so far East Noble Baseball!
