The East Noble softball team is quickly starting up and on its way to a great season. Over 35 girls came ready to prove themselves on March 10-12, the dates of the tryouts for the varsity and JV softball teams. After the coaches assessed all of the players over the three days during hitting, fielding, and throwing drills, they made their decisions. Few girls were cut as there was an immense amount of talent at tryouts. There are 7 pitchers between the two teams which Coach Marissa Burkhart says is a record during the five years she has been head coach. With multiple options for pitching, a solid batting order on each team, and impressive fielding by each of the players, East Noble has a lot to offer in softball this year. The varsity team recently devoted a day to team-building in order to bring the players closer, so in turn, they can perform together on the field. Practices will continue from now through Spring Break, and soon after, season games will begin. Stay tuned for softball updates!
