Girls’ Soccer Looks Solid, Loses Narrowly

The EN varsity girls soccer team lost to Norwell 1-0 Tuesday night. Norwell caught EN off guards 5 minutes into the game to go up 1-0. Midway through the 1st half Janelle Wasson got free and shot a 20 yard rocket at the net. The Norwell goalie then fumbled the save and Lindsey Casselman got a piece of the rebound, which was blocked again by the keeper. Finally Taylor Rex finished off the scoring opportunity, but pushed the ball just wide of the goal. A few minutes later Melissa Huff would get her best chance to score after receiving a pass at the top of the box, but the Norwell goalie came out hard and deflected Huff’s shot away. Unfortunately the damage was done early in the contest, and despite a great team effort EN just couldn’t comeback. Vickie Nguyen had 12 saves in the contest.

The EN JV girls soccer team lost to Norwell 3-1. Erica Morr scored first just a few minutes into the game after receiving a pass at midfield and outrunning the defense and slipping the ball past the goalie. After that, Norwell went to work and made the score 2-1 at half. Olivia Smith had 5 saves in the 1st half and London Wells had 4 saves in the 2nd half.
