2013 Girls Soccer News

The Girls Soccer team for 2013 is in full swing and is ready to go as game times roll around just as the school year starts up. With twelve new freshmen and many experienced upperclassmen the girls are well equipped to put up a fight on the field.

Training started a week before school with the infamous two-a-days. During the morning practices, the team ran the mile and the two mile every other day at the start of practice. After their run, they continued with sprints and drills to build up their endurance for long  and intense soccer games. Although the mornings were full of workouts, most times there was a “break” that consisted of a fun game that continued sharpening their skills. The team may have been tired but they pushed through in order to make themselves and their team better.

Aubrey Lewis, a Junior, returning for her third year of soccer, comments on the training, “I feel like training really helped our team become better and more in shape for the season. We still need to keep training and work on working better as a team, but that just takes time.”

In the evenings, the girls worked on essential game skills such as passing and shooting, along with winning the ball from an opposing player. All of these are important aspects to a soccer players game and will ultimately make the team better as a whole. Each and every one of the players are excited to start off the season strong and make East Noble High School proud.

Lindsey Casselman, a four-year Senior, shares her thoughts about the new season, “I’m really excited for this year because we have a great experienced group of girls playing for us. I think the season will go really well!”
