A new enemy arises in the galaxy in the newest Star Wars Film, The Force Awakens.

30 years have passed since the destruction of the second Death Star. Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) has vanished. The Galactic Empire has been replaced by the sinister First Order, led by Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), who is hunting for Luke’s location. Opposing the First Order is the Resistance, led by General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher). When resistance pilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and reformed First Order Stormtrooper Finn (John Boyega) crash on the planet Jakku, Finn meets scavenger Rey (Daisy Ridely), whose droid holds the key to finding Luke. With the First Order planning on striking the resistance at its heart, Finn and Rey must enlist the help of rebel hero Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew).

From the moment that the Star Wars theme started playing and the opening crawl started to roll, I knew that it was going to be a good movie. I’m pleased to say that indeed, this movie lived up to my high expectations.

The special effects were done extremely well. From the Starfighters to the explosions, this movie really showed how hard the crew worked to make the movie be a global phenomenon.

I was also happy to see the return of Ford, Hamill, Fisher, and Mayhew as their old characters of Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Chewbacca alongside new cast members like  Isaac,  Boyega, Ridely, and Driver. It always makes me pleased to see old cast members interact with new ones to make a great movie.

Lastly, I want to point out the music. John Williams once again returns to compose the score for the movie, and he pulled it off once again. The music set the scenes perfectly, and really brought this movie home as one of the best movies of 2015.

I give this movie a 10/10.
