National Hugging Day

National+Hugging+Day

An unpopular holiday not many people celebrate every year is National Hugging Day. On January 21st you can give anyone hug because it’s the day of hugs. According to Holiday Insights webpage National Hugging Day was created in 1986 by Rev. Kevin Zaborney from Caro, Michigan. Hugs are given and received by people you care about and that care about you. Why not spend one day showing the people you care by giving them a hug?

“A hug is the perfect gift- one size fits all and nobody minds if you exchange it.” – Irvin Ball

We should take advantage of the wonderful gift we have of sharing hugs among friends. I think it’s a fun way to spread some cheer. You wouldn’t want to go up to a random stranger and give them a hug but if you see a friend in the hallway it would be nice to go up to them and just give them a hug.
