Job Shadowing at Wayne Center

On Career Pathway day, I job shadowed my mom, who works at Wayne Center Elementary School. She works in Reading Intervention, though she helps out in other classrooms, mainly Kindergarten. I was a bit nervous about this, for I have heard stories on how the kids are this year.

However, I was pleasantly surprised that the kids behaved while I was there. The Kindergarteners especially loved me, which may or may not have something to do with the fact that I taught them the full and real rules of their favorite recess game, Ga Ga ball.

I really enjoyed helping the Kindergarteners do their classwork. I was also very surprised on how many good authors there are in the 2nd grade classroom my mom helped in that day. Many of them have a good future in writing ahead of them.

I also enjoyed seeing old teacher friends that still work there, as I have not seen many of them in 3 years. There were several faces that I remember from when I went to school there, as well as many new ones.

All in all, it was a great day. All the kids I worked with loved me. Many of the littler kids gave me hugs at the end of the day to show that they loved seeing me there. I loved being there that day, and I would do it again if I had the opportunity to.
