The Hobbit: The Battle of the 5 Armies Review

The Middle-Earth Saga ends with one final battle for The Lonely Mountain in The Hobbit: The Battle of the 5 armies, staring Martin Freemen, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, and Evangeline Lilly, and features Cate Blanchett, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, and Orlando Bloom.
Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freemen) and the Dwarves of Erebor, led by Thorin Okanshield (Richard Armitage) have reclaimed their homeland from Smaug the Terrible, but their troubles are not over yet. Thorin descends into madness as he hunts for the Arkenstone. Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen) is being held captive by the Necromancer Sauron. An army of Orcs led by Azog the Defiler is marching towards them. Dwarves, Men, and Elves must put aside their differences, and band together, or they will all die at the hands of Azog and his master, Sauron.
This film was a fantastic ending to the Middle-Earth Saga. I was very pleased to see people like Ian McKellen, Christopher Lee, Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving, and Orlando Bloom reprising their roles as from The Lord of the Rings film series as Gandalf the Grey, Saruman the White, Galadriel, Elrond, and Legolas Greenleaf respectively. I also really liked the fact that most of the movie was battle. They focused on Thorin’s growing madness pretty well, and this movie also shows pretty much how Saruman is corrupted by Sauron. Plus, Elrond actually does some fighting, which shows that he can fight when needed.
I would rate this film a 9/10, or 4.5 stars, due to the length of the movie, and how there were some slow parts in the film.
