Downtown Fort Wayne Fright Night Preview

Fright Night is Downtown Fort Wayne’s annual Halloween festival. It’s a day of friendly, spooky fun. Fright Night is most well-known for its famous Zombie Walk. Thousands of people dressed as the undead walk and limp down the blocked off streets of downtown.

Things start off earliest at the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, with their pumpkin patch and all things pumpkin, at 10:00 am and goes on until 5:00 pm.

The Allen County Public Library is the largest host of the night. Several of their departments will be doing activities. The teen’s department is doing battle against invading zombies are calling on teens and their families to defend the library.

The ACPL is the base activity for the Zombie Walk. Out front, the T.A.G. Zombie Machine will be there, just waiting to turn you into the undead with their face paint. The Old Fashion Photo Booth will be out front. Step in and capture your new walking dead look. Radio stations Magic 91.5 and Fun 101.7 will be there giving the party life. Magic will be hosting a Zombie Hunt. The Fun radio team will be joined by Mummy Monkey. Listen on their radio station or check their website for more details. The new WFFT Local News team will be having a meet and greet and will be giving out free merchandise. Inside, check out the new board game ZOMBIES!!! By Twilight Creations. Only those that make it to the chopper get out alive.

Parkview Field will be hosting a scavenger hunt. Guests walk around stadium while searching for ghosts and pumpkins, big and small, hidden throughout the Field. The guest the guesses closest to the correct amount will receive a special prize from the Tincaps. Parkview Field will be open for two hours, between 5:30 and 7:30.

Warm up by the bonfire outside the Courtyard for some hot chocolate, cider, fright dogs, and blood soup. All are being sold for just two dollars with the proceeds benefiting the charity organization “Back on my Feet”.

The Old Fort will be having Lantern Tours from 5:00 to 10:30, for three dollars a person. Visitors are guided by candle light by a historic interpreter and learn the stories of the resident ghosts. There’s even the chance of an appearance by the Headless Horseman. All proceeds will go to benefiting the historic fort.

ARCH Inc. will be having two haunted tours on Saturday, one by foot and the other by bus. ARCH’s Mystery, Murder, and Mayhem Haunted walking tours will take you through the downtown and to the most various sights around it, all with the own darker stories to tell. ARCH’s bus tours will give you a trip around downtown and its surroundings, with its sights varying from Northside High School to the GE complex with all the chilling stories behind them. Walking tours are ten dollars, with times every hour on the hour from 6:00 to 10:00. The bus tours fifteen dollars a person with times at 6:00, 8:00, and 10:00.

Finishing the night off the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Botanical Conservatory. Come watch this cult classic outside on the terrace. This interactive showing will have you getting in on the action in its own way. One piece of advice, dress warm. The movie showing takes place outside at 9:15. The doors open at 8:00.  Tickets are two dollars per a person. Teens and children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
