EN Cereal Drive Yields Tremendous Results

East Noble’s recent school wide cereal drive sparked a huge turnout, with a whopping 626 boxes of cereal collected!  The fundraiser was held from February 11 to February 21, and students were to bring in boxes of cereal to their Academic Lab teacher that were to be donated to the Kendallville Food Pantry on Dowling Street.

Since the number of students in each Academic Lab differs, the winning Academic Labs were decided by number of boxes brought in per student.  The winning Academic Lab was Mrs. Schmiesing’s with 99 boxes brought in by 12 students!  Second place went to Mrs. Mazur, whose 13 students contributed 85 boxes, and in third place was Mrs. DeWitt’s with 38 boxes between her 13 students.

“I was thrilled as I had no idea what to expect.  Our final count was 626 boxes, and I think that is pretty great,” said Mrs. Suzette White, the leader of the fundraiser.

Mrs. Schmiesing’s Academic Lab class will be treated to a free meal at the Round Table Café one day in the near future during the lunch and Academic Lab hour.

Other notable contributions included Mr. Mettert’s class with 140 boxes donated, Mr. Munoz’s with 54 boxes, Mrs. White’s with 44, and Mrs. Swonger’s with 33.  Way to go East Noble in all of your contributions for a great community cause!
