Covered in Blue and Gold

For years it’s been an East Noble High School tradition to go all out on Crazy Blue and Gold Day during homecoming week, and this year was no exception! Students took advantage of the opportunity to show their immense school spirit and get the excitement going for the big football game. Instead of wearing the usual jeans, most students got creative and found anything and everything they had in royal blue and gold to throw on for Friday. Old jerseys were worn, hair was colored, and socks weren’t the same color, but everyone matched when it came to supporting the Knights. To many, this day is the best and most important of the week.

“I love Blue and Gold Day because it brings us all together and it’s a great tradition!” Dezaray Barr, a member of the Junior Homecoming Court comments. Valerie Ley, sophomore, also gives her thoughts on the day,

” I really like Blue and Gold Day because it’s so easy to participate in and it shows how much school spirit everyone has.”

To end the school day, and start the energetic evening, a pep rally was held in the main gym of the school to get the students and players ready for the big game. Mr. Gilg and Mr. Amstutz led the event with a few words on school spirit, but the rest was all the students. Seniors were victorious in their battle cries, and also in the Homecoming Court Games where a lifesaver had to be passed from person to person by a toothpick. From the dress to the pep, everything was in order to win the homecoming football game, and it must have worked, as the Knights dominated the top ranked New Haven later that evening.
