On Monday, the East Noble Homecoming Volleyball Tournament was held captive by The Purple Team. Carl Kramer, Jonathan Toles, Houston Pattee, Kerri Schrock, Lauren Grimm, and Tiffani Wilson, all seniors, finished off the night with an undefeated record and a championship, after claiming a 15-11 victory.

The tournament began at 6:30, as all players and teams warmed up for the competition, hitting balls against the wall, practicing deadly spikes, and even gathering in huddles to encourage each other. After warming up, Mrs. DeWitt and Mr. Bentz gathered up the competitors and set the rules and regulations. It was a double-elimination tournament with teams of six, three boys and three girls.

Despite lacking one player, the Staff team, captained by Mrs. DeWitt, finished third, losing in the semi-final game. Although they appeared to be slightly winded by the end of their run, the Staff put up a determined competition with the younger high school students!

Congratulations to all teams who participated, and hopefully, next year’s tournament will be as successful as the East Noble Homecoming Volleyball Tournament 2013!
