East Noble Christian Fellowship: A Family in the Making

Everyone needs that one safe place that is always secure, a haven to recharge, reconnect, and replenish. The world of high school is a stressful, and sometimes treacherous place, and if you are looking for that oasis of security during your week, read on.

East Noble Christian Fellowship (ENCF) is a new group to the school this year. A product of the thinking of two proactive East Noble students, this organization is serving not only as resting place for teenagers but also as a light in the community. Emily Stearns, 12, and Karlee Speelman,10, developed the idea last year based on the national organization Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Not wanting to exclude non-athletes, the girls created the ENCF to be open to all students.

You may be wondering what the purpose of such a group is. In short, it is a place where Christian students can meet other Christians in their school. In addition to this fellowship, the group will also be doing service projects such as talking with residents at nursing homes and making hospital visits. ENCF will serve as place where students can find guidance, encouragement, and community.

The organization meets every Friday morning 7:10 – 7:40 in Mr. Swartz’s room. Stearns says not to worry if you come into school later than 7:10 because the door is always open. A normal meeting in the ENCF generally starts off with a short Bible study or devotional led by different members. Later, service projects are discussed, high school advice is given, and the meeting is wrapped up with a word of prayer. It is also important to note that the ENCF runs confidential meetings. The group is a safe place, and your privacy will be respected.

The members of ENCF invite you to join them on Friday mornings for a time of fellowship and encouragement. If you aren’t sure about participating, feel free to visit once or twice to help you make your decision.

High school can a difficult place to navigate, but you don’t have to do it alone. The ENCF is here to help.
