Saying Good Luck to Departing Seniors

Eric Butler (12) will receive his diploma at graduation on June 8 at 10:30 AM.

Graduation. An event that we, as students, all dream of. We ponder where we will go to school, what we will do with our lives, and what the real world will present us. There’s the simple to the complicated, the known to the unknown, and the windshield to the rearview mirror. Yet in all of the aspects of this windy, bumpy road called life, our seniors of East Noble High School drive off into their own sunsets this June with courage and confidence, instilled in them by family, friends, and staff.

From being a teary-eyed five-year-old, to a teary-eyed 18-year-old, seniors look back on the years spent in this corporation, and smile. No matter what their grades showed, how many detentions they received, or who their best friends were, these young men and women are embarking on individual paths, with individual cars, and individual destinations.

Eric Butler, one of many soon-to-be-successful seniors in the class of 2013, reflected on his time at East Noble, saying, “I’ll miss it here. I have a lot of great memories at East Noble, but I’ll miss my friends and teachers the most. It will seem like I am starting all over again at IPFW.” Butler shares the feeling of staring into the rearview mirror with most of the senior class, not knowing what is down the road, or when they will reach their destination…or how their car will work. The idea, though, is that after twelve years of hard work, every senior has fine-tuned that car to reach every goal in their lives. Soon, those longing stares into the rearview mirror will become glances, turning into determined gazes through of the windshield. And maybe, just maybe, when those destinations are all reached, they can let the top down and feel the wind in their hair, sunlight on their skin, and smile from ear to ear.

Thank you Eric, and the entire senior class of 2013, for a great twelve years dedicated to East Noble, and good luck on your travels ahead.
