EN Staff Stars: Mrs. Karen Keck

Thank you to everyone who has been following this story the entire year. This week will mark our final installment of EN Staff Stars for the 2018-2019 school year. And, without further ado, here is our final EN Staff Star, Mrs. Karen Keck:

How many years have you been teaching at East Noble?

  • 35 years

What subjects do you teach?

  • Algebra 1 and Algebra 2

What is your favorite class to teach?

  • Alg 2 😊

What’s your favorite part of teaching?

  • I love teaching. I like seeing the looks on student faces when “they get it”!.  I love that every day is something different.  I love my coworkers – some of them have become my lifelong friends.

Do you have a favorite EN Memory? If so, what is it?

  • I loved being able to have my daughter in class – not sure if that counts or not!

Do you have any interests/hobbies outside of school?

  • As an IU alumni, I love going to IU football games – even though they are not that great and occasionally a basketball game. I love just sitting by the pool during the few weeks off school in the summer. I am a member of the Miss Indiana Scholarship Pageant Board of Directors. I am in charge of all the ticket sales and help with the week-long competition in June.

Do you have a fun fact about yourself?

  • I was one of the few people injured in the 1992 Tornado that went through Kendallville. I was at WalMart!!

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

  • I have taught at East Noble since graduating from IU. I have spent my entire career in this building – in only 4 different classrooms.

Thank you for all that you do Mrs. Keck, we greatly appreciate all the help you have given us when it comes to math. We love you Mrs. Keck!!!

And don’t forget, even though this will be our last installment for this school year, we will be back next year with even more installments featuring even more of our delightful EN Staff. Until then folks!
