EN Staff Stars: Mrs. Dawn Strasser

EN+Staff+Stars%3A+Mrs.+Dawn+Strasser

To finish up the first month of our EN Staff Stars, we are honoring Mrs. Dawn Strasser.

How many years have you been teaching at East Noble? What subjects do you teach?

  • This is my 2nd year teaching 9th and 10th grade English.

What is your favorite class to teach?

  • I enjoy meeting new freshman students, but it is always nice to see students in 10th grade that I had as 9th graders!

What’s your favorite part of teaching?

  • My favorite part of teaching is that it provides a place where I can be myself (silly, quirky, etc.) and that is celebrated rather than looked down upon. Another favorite part of teaching is seeing when students have an “Aha Moment” about life, school, etc.

Do you have a favorite EN Memory? If so, what is it?

  • My favorite memories of EN so far usually involve the Guidance Department! They do a spirit week like nobody’s business!

Do you have any interests/hobbies outside of school?

  • Outside of school, I spend every minute I can with my family. My daughter is a sophomore here at EN and involved heavily in show choir and theatre so that keeps my husband and I very busy!  We also have a son who is at the middle school this year!  We live on 30+ acres and enjoy wandering our property and looking at all of the nature we have been blessed with.

Do you have a fun fact about yourself?

  • A suppose the only fun fact I can think of is that I have a brother named Michael, a step-brother named Michael, and 4 brothers-in-law named Michael!

Congratulations to Mrs. Strasser on her nomination and we hope that she is with EN for many years to come. We love you Mrs. Strasser!!!
