Two years ago, Jonathon Kane graduated from East Noble High School as a member of the Class of 2014. When he walked across the stage on graduation day to receive his diploma, he knew that, in the next step of his life, he would attend Huntington University in the fall of 2014 to study film production, but he had no idea what experiences were in store for him.

Now entering his second semester as a sophomore at Huntington, Kane has already been exposed to what his field of work will be. He has written and directed multiple films, interviewed Indiana Governor Mike Pence, gone to Chicago to cast actors for a film, and had the opportunity to be a news producer and anchor of the campus news station.

“These are some of the best opportunities I’ve had since being at Huntington,” said Kane.

In addition to these opportunities, Kane is currently visiting Tokyo, Japan to film another movie.

Although he’s been fortunate to have gained so much experience in his field already, it has required a lot of hard work and focus—skills that he was able to hone in his years at East Noble.

“East Noble really showed me how important it is to have good work ethic,” said Kane. “College is great, but there are many distractions. You have to be really disciplined to get work done.”

In his high school days, Kane was involved in numerous activities, from theatre to National Honor Society and more, so he has grown accustomed to a busy schedule and having to manage his time wisely.

As a sophomore in college, Kane has already taken advantage of many opportunities, and he looks forward to the many more that await him in his future at Huntington. After college, he plans to move to Los Angeles, California to work on becoming a full-time screenwriter and director.
