Dramusidy

It is no question that we have a number of talented students here at East Noble, but what is rather noteworthy is how the students are demonstrating this talent beyond the school walls.

Juniors Jenna Boese, Lucas Graden, and Kat Kistler, and senior Rachel Skurner started a YouTube channel entitled Dramusidy. All four are actively involved in theatre, whether it be on the stage or behind the scenes. The channel includes musical covers by Rachel, weekly vlogs by Kat, and various short films or videos directed/written by Jenna and Lucas.

The title, Dramusidy, is a creative mash-up of the various qualities of the channel. “Dram” represents the dramatic short films posted usually on Fridays (Short Film Fridays). “Musi” represents the phenomenal musical covers, as well as the theatrical background of the group. Lastly, “dy” is representative of the comedic quality of the group, noticeable in nearly every video posted.

The most recent short film, “Just Us,” was featured at Collage this past February. Written and filmed by Jenna and edited by Lucas, it featured a teenager (Rachel) dealing with the stress that many high school students face. The video provided an insight not only into the various stresses that students encounter, but the effects of that stress and the all-consuming presence of it. The film received outstanding reviews from all who saw it, as did other short films featured on Dramusidy such as “Life of the Party” and “Covet.”

A short film entitled “Dark” is currently in the works, and will be posted within the next two weeks. A vlog can be expected from Kat every “Talkative Tuesday,” along with various videos from the rest of the group.

Dramusidy is not only representative of the talent here at East Noble, but also the desire and willingness our students have to extend and develop their talents outside of high school. Dramusidy is a phenomenal YouTube channel and I would highly recommend that you check it out.
