East Noble Teens Take the Titles from Miss Limberlost

On the last weekend in July, the 39th annual Miss Limberlost Scholarship Pageant was held on the Munk Stage. Five young women from Noble and Lagrange counties competed for the title of Miss Limberlost and seven teens competed for the title of Miss Limberlost Outstanding Teen or Miss Northern Lakes’ Outstanding Teen, in hopes to compete next June in Zionsville for the title of Miss Indiana or Miss Indiana’s Outstanding Teen. Two Little Miss Limberlost and six Miss Limberlost Pre-Teen contestants also took the stage. Friday night was the night for little miss, pre-teen, and teen contestants to shine. Saturday was the Miss competition and crowning night for all age groups.

East Noble graduate, Olivia Ulch, Miss Limberlost 2014, said her favorite memory from her year was “the entire Miss Indiana experience”. She also said “it was crazy to see in a week how much growth I had”. When I asked what she would miss the most after she passes down her title, “it defiantly keeps you busy for an entire year”. Miss Limberlost’s Outstanding Teen, and junior at East Noble Taryn Campbell, said her favorite memory was “the camping trip the contestants take every year and getting to know her sister queens”. A sophomore at East Noble, Megan Butler, Miss Northern Lakes’ Outstanding Teen, said her favorite memory was “being with Taryn backstage during Miss Indiana.”

Lydia Tremaine, a junior at East Noble, won the title of Miss Limberlost Outstanding Teen with her talent as singing and winning the talent award. Alyssa Gulick, a junior at East Noble, won the title of Miss Northern Lakes’ Outstand Teen with a talent of singing as well and winning the interview award. This is the second title for Lydia and the 5th pageant Alyssa has competed in. Shelby Carmichael, a recent graduate of IPFW, won the title of Miss Limberlost after competing in the pageant for the 5th time with a talent as a jazz dance, winning the lifestyle & fitness award, and being named Miss Congeniality from her fellow contestants. Kylee Hood won the title of Little Miss Limberlost and Jenna Zabona was named Miss Limberlost Pre-Teen.

Other results:
In the Teen category, Jordan Axel, a sophomore at Eat Noble, was named the 1st runner up and Shaniah Ramsey, a freshman at Churubuso, won the Lifestyle & Fitness award and was named 2nd
runner up. Chloee Kline was name Miss Congeniality.
In the Miss category: Brianna DeCamp, a junior at Miami University in Ohio, won named the 1st runner up and won the talent and interview award. A graduate of East Noble and a freshman at Ball State, Lauren Butler, was named the second runner up.
