Class of 2017 Top 20 Recognized at Kendallville Lions Meeting

 

On Monday evening (3.20), the Kendallville Lions Club honored the Top 20 students in the class of 2017. The dinner was held at the American Legion on Main St. from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The students sat among the club members for the entirety of the meeting, getting to know the members of the local volunteer group, including former East Noble High School teacher Mr. Lash. With the students that evening was class guidance counselor Mrs. Benedict and High School Principle Longenbaugh. This is Mrs. Benedict’s third graduating class. At the end of the meal, the students has been asked to briefly tell about themselves and say what each of them had planned for after high school.

The Top 20 consists of, in no particular order: Hannah Eickhoff, Katie Hines, Michael Lehman, Abigail Peterson, Elijah Shanton, Kaitlyn Weber, Reilly Childers, Cassidy Fisher, Anthony Phan, Hanah Clifton, Jessica Vandiver, Taylor Rex, Alyssa Skiles, Bailee Hager, Emily Engle, Amber Maxwell, Myah Romer, Zachary Lane, and Mya Diffenderfer.

The class of 2017 has approximately 300 students in it, making them in the top 7%. In addition, they will also have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship that only the twenty of them are allowed to apply for. They have worked incredibly hard for their spots during all four of their years at East Noble High School. Congratulations to our Top 20.
