An important announcement was made in first period over the intercom this morning, but it will be reiterated here (just in case you were absent or too sleep-deprived to pay attention). Collage, EN’s annual talent show, was originally set to take place here at East Noble on Saturday, February 11, but those plans have recently been altered. The event will now take place on Sunday, February 12 at 4:00 PM.

Student Council reported that the change was made to accommodate students in band and show choir who want to perform in the talent show. Both groups have a competition on Saturday the 11th, the original date of Collage.

This isn’t the first time Collage has experienced difficulties due to dates. In years past it has been set on the same day as the Super Bowl, but the East Noble community can let out a sigh of relief this year—the Super Bowl will be on February 3 this time around.

Students, families, and locals are all encouraged to attend Collage and can expect an entertaining evening of home-grown talent. Proceeds made by the event will go directly to Riley Children’s Hospital.

As always, the event will wrap up Riley Week, which starts next Monday. The Riley Wagon will be making rounds each morning during the first few periods of each school day, which means that students will be able to purchase small snacks and treats for their own enjoyment. Again, the proceeds will benefit those at Riley Children’s Hospital.

East Noble High School is definitely lucky to have a student council committed to planning such great events, which have become integral pieces of our high school’s culture.

Aside from Riley Week and Collage, Student Council also seems to have something new and exciting planned for this year: Random Acts of Kindness Week (or RAK Week). What this week entails is unclear at this point, but students can expect a week of love and optimism to sweep through the hallways when it comes. RAK Week is slated to start on Monday, February 20 and end on Friday, February 24, the week after Riley Week.

Stay tuned for more information.
