An Inside Look at David Stinson

An+Inside+Look+at+David+Stinson

As we say farewell to Mrs. Alisa Smith, we greet Mr. David Stinson as East Noble’s new assistant principal. If you are thinking, “Well, Mr. Stinson was here last year!” you are mistaken. Mr. Matt Stinson, of course, was here, but Mr. David Stinson, his brother, is our new assistant principal! After spending 12 years and change as a social studies teacher and an administrator at Northrop, Wayne, and Snider, Stinson has arrived at East Noble High School!

Growing up in Minnesota and other various places in his childhood, Stinson describes growing up with Matt Stinson as “any brother’s relationship,” elaborating that they “had fights like brothers do but had each other’s backs too.” Their relationship is prominent in the fact that Mr. Matt Stinson suggested the open middle school administrative position to David a year ago. “I was at Snider and felt content, but he pushed me and pushed me to come to East Noble and told me it was a place that I should want to be at.” After one year at the middle school, Mr. Stinson replaced Mrs. Smith as assistant principal of the high school.

“What I like the most about East Noble is that it feels like a family,” said Stinson about the high school, after only being in session for fifteen days. “Everyone is smiling every day, and it just seems like every person actually wants to be here, which makes for the perfect learning environment.”

Stinson explains that perfection is not what he strives for, but there is always room for improvement. “In all walks of life, everyone should always strive to improve, but I do not see anything in this school that immediately need to be changed. My job is to help implement the leadership of Mr. Peterson.”

Other than his brother, Matt, Stinson has what he calls an “instant family,” consisting of his wife, Cheri, three step-daughters, Christin, Candace, and Caitlyn, and Australian Shepherd, Maggie. Pride is indisputable in his voice when speaking of his family, “My middle daughter is in Phoenix and graduated from Purdue, while my youngest is playing NCAA Division II volleyball and is approaching the record for most digs.” When asked about his greatest accomplishment, he replied promptly, “Personally, my most significant achievement is being able to say that I have always been there for my family when I was counted on. I am very proud of that.”

As we welcome this family man as our new assistant principal, we wish him many years here in the future, and he wishes our newspaper luck too. “I feel that The Knightly Scroll is a huge positive for the community, and I hope it grows into the great news source that we all expect it to be.”

The next time you see Mr. David Stinson in the hallways, welcome him to our school, and let’s all show him what a great community this really is. So, Mr. Stinson, are the Stinson family reunions going to be at the high school now?
